When natural disasters occur in Appalachia, ASP steps in to help hundreds of families recover and rebuild their homes and their lives—free of charge.
As with ASP’s New Build program, most families served by ASP’s Disaster Recovery & Rebuild outreach have very low median income—less than 50% area median income (AMI). Uninsured and underinsured homeowners are often left with few options after disasters strike.
ASP’s model provides warm, safe and dry housing to families without adding debt. These GRACE GIFTS provide families with home equity. Rebuilding these assets moves individuals, families, and communities toward economic wellbeing for years to come.
