The Smiths are among the 1,670 families that applied to ASP for Home Repair in 2024.
The Smiths live in a small mobile home where their four daughters share an 11’ by 11’ bedroom, with the 17-year-old choosing to sleep in the closet just to have her own space. The home needed underpinning and safe exits, including an accessible ramp. One of the girls has brain cancer, and the oldest, age 18, is disabled. Our staff also discovered the home’s septic system had completely collapsed, making the property unsafe and unhealthy. Providing this family with a safe and healthy home was just one of the many projects our staff enjoyed completing this summer.
